Who Needs T.O.?

Photobucket
T.O. Who? This offseason, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had a feeling letting go of star receiver and drama queen Terrell Owens would be best for the team's future as they opened this season in their brand new multi-billion dollar stadium. Many questioned the decision Jones made and many wondered who would be the team's star receiver? There was no doubt the release of T.O. opened a window for someone else to take the spotlight, but I think it's safe to say that position is no longer available.

Who's the man for the job you ask? He goes by the name of Miles Austin. Austin surprised a lot of people after his monster performance in last week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, where he had 10 receptions for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fluke? Austin proved he was no one hit wonder by being a key component in Sunday's win against Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. Austin had yet another stellar performance by compiling 6 receptions for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns. I'll do the math for you, that's a whopping 16 receptions, 421 yards, and 4 touchdowns total in the past 2 games. All of that has got me asking, is this what Jerry Jones had in mind when he released T.O.?

Another impact Austin has made, isn't on the team but rather on quarterback Tony Romo. Romo and Owens didn't have the best of relationships, so it'll be interesting to see where this one goes.
