I remain a Giant and you Jeremy Shockey

Photobucket
Last Sunday, Saints wide receiver Jeremy Shockey faced his former team -- the New York Giants for the first time since being traded in 2008. As usual Shockey claimed it wasn't about him seeking revenge on his former team, more so the two teams that were playing. We heard the same thing from Brett Favre earlier this year when he too went up against his former team. & Although both players say they didn't think about it in terms of getting back at their former clubs, we all know sticking it to them was exactly what they had in mind.

Aside from the Shockey drama, the game between New York (5-0) and New Orleans(4-0) was also a battle between two undefeated teams. & Heading into the game Eli Manning's Giants were favored to win. I'm guessing Drew Brees never got the memo. Instead Shockey's Saints not only upset the Giants, but they dismantled them 48 to 27. The Giants had the number 1 overall defense and the best pass defense entering the game. None of that meant a thing to Drew Brees as he threw for 369 yards and 4 touchdowns, 1 of those being a touchdown pass to Jeremy Shockey. Shockey finished the game with 4 receptions for 37 yards.
