There's a New Chief in Town

Weis to KC a wise move? - A big name coach that has flew under the radar with all the recent talk about Pete Carroll, is Charlie Weis' transformation from college football, back to the NFL. After being fired from the head coaching job at Notre Dame, Weis returns to the NFL, this time as a Kansas City Chief. Earlier this week, Weis was hired as the Chiefs offensive coordinator. Someone else who will be joining the team in hope of returning to the playoffs, is Romeo Crennel who will serve as Kansas City's defensive coordinator. Both Weis and Crennel have worked together many times, from their days with the New York Giants (1990-92), New York Jets (1997-99) and most recently their time shared with the New England Patriots (1993-96, 2001-2004). Someone else Weis and Crennel know well, is KC's head coach Todd Haley, who the two worked alongside during their time spent with the Jets. & If the party wasn't already full, the duo will be reunited with General Manager Scott Pioli, from their days with the Patriots.

Altogether, the bunch has formed a winning environment and have been around a winning team for quite some time. But will they be the perfect ingredients to help turn a Chiefs team that's been starving for success into a Championship caliber team? Weis was a flop at Notre Dame, but will returning to the NFL revive his career with a little help from his friends?
