Silent No More

Photobucket
Tiger set to break his Silence - As if the Tiger Woods story hasn't already been blown out of proportion and received enough media attention, the latest news regarding Woods and his future will be announced tomorrow morning. The 10-time PGA Player of the Year has been in a sex rehab clinic for the past month or so and is scheduled to speak in public for the first time in nearly three months when the incident first occurred. Woods plans to hold a press conference where he will be releasing a public statement, however, I'm not sure 'press conference' is what you want to call it considering there will be no questions asked. And instead of the usual writers, journalists, reporters and cameras packing the conference room like sardines, it'll be a much different atmosphere, as only friends, family and colleagues are said to be invited. Also in attendance will be the three major network camera crews that plan to give coverage on the whole thing. So if you don't wake up early enough for the live conference (like myself), there's no question it'll be talked about on every other channel for the next 2-4 weeks.

Along with his wife Elin, Tiger has taken some unfair punishment from the tabloids and media. Punishment that hasn't been seen before, aimed at one individual as far as celebrity scandals go. & Although it's unknown what Woods has to say, other than the obvious -- "I'm sorry", it'll be interesting if he reveals when he plans to return to the golf course. It's clear that both the Tour and sport of golf need Tiger more than he needs them. But after all, if there's anyway to regain the popularity that he's lost through out this entire episode, it's making a return to the green. & To be honest, I haven't been this excited to hear from Tiger since Dave Chappelle's Racial Draft took place. "Goodbye friend rice, hello fried chicken!"
